With visual electrophysiology and psychophysics, you can:

  • Identify specific inherited retinal disorders (IRDs)
  • Establish disease severity and progression
  • Assess impact of therapies

Visual electrophysiology in the retina specialty

Inherited retinal conditions have distinct patterns of abnormality that are specific to conditions like rod and cone dystrophies, Leber congenital amaurosis, congenital stationary night blindness, and others. Electroretinography can aid in confirming a diagnosis and helping to guide in treatment or clinical trial eligibility.

You can perform electroretinography using the Diagnosys ColorDome full-field stimulator.

When an ERG produces a flat signal, the Full-field Stimulus Test (FST) can still quantify visual function. This psychophysical test requires patients to respond to stimuli in order to confirm light detection. Useful in assessing treatment efficacy in clinical trials, the FST provides a measure for the severity of visual impairment. Use the DiagnosysFST in conjunction with the ColorDome stimulator on any Diagnosys system.
